Resource-efficient campus management plays a key role in the sustainable management of the Ðǿմ«Ã½. For around 13,300 students and doctoral students as well as for the over 3,300 (FTE) employees in more than 80 buildings, the university required an average of 61.6 GWh of energy and 162.1 million liters of water in 2023 and 2024. During this time, many important steps towards a more sustainable campus were achieved, as for example the installation of a 1,368 m² photovoltaic system on the roof of the Department of Sports, Exercise and Health. Greening measures in front of the Biozentrum, the reduction of hazardous waste and further development of the range of vegetarian and plant-based dishes in the University's catering facilities are further achievements.
